“Gilded Grace is a tribute to the grace and strength inherent in women. Inspired by the resilience of women around me, this piece uses gold leaf to symbolize their value and beauty, whether they realize it or not. The flowing forms represent movement and vitality, illustrating that strength often lies beneath the surface. I chose this painting for the art box project to celebrate empowerment and to remind viewers value that women play in society. “Gilded Grace” honors mothers, daughters, and leaders who carry their burdens with elegance, inspiring us all to recognize and appreciate their quiet yet profound strength.”

Meet the Artist:
Melissa Yeung-Yap

Melissa Yeung-Yap is a multidisciplinary Filipino artist, social entrepreneur, and corporate leader. A 2003 graduate of Immaculate Conception Academy, she was the first recipient of its special Award for Outreach Activities. She later pursued Development Studies at Ateneo de Manila University, earned a master’s in Entrepreneurship from the Asian Institute of Management, and completed Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management Program. Melissa’s art serves as her advocacy, collaborating with and promoting local weavers and artisans. As CEO of Greenstone Pharmaceutical, she integrates community products into sustainable supply chains and aims to create 10,000 jobs through industrial park development.
